CHATHURMUKHA BASADI

Chaturmukha Basadi monument is a symmetrical Jain temple situated in Karkala,Udupi district of Karnataka, India. It is one of the most famous monuments of Karkala.The Chaturmukha Basadi, was built in the late 16th century by Immadi Bhairarasa Vodeya of the Santara dynasty in the year 1586. The Basadi was named so because of four identical doorways which shows four directions, and all doorways leads to the Garbhagriha.
