Lord Vishnumoorthy of Kodangala temple was originally worshiped by Sage Pulinda (Pulinda Rishi) so the temple is known as Puli Temple. The temple is believed to be few centuries old. The Kodangala temple is surrounded by forest and fields. A sacred branch of river “Papanashani” flows nearby. This temple is nearer to another Vishnumoorthy temple which is in Moodu Alevooru.
To reach the temple you need to walk through the pedestrian bridge built across the river “Papanashini”. The place is quite, silent, calm and picturesque. Holy water pond near the temple has a beautiful architecture.
