Sri Mariamma Temple is located in Karkala, Udupi district, Karnataka. This temple is believed to be in existence even prior to the period of Vijayanagar Empire. It also had the patronage of Hoysala Kings. It is also believed that Kings used to worship this Godess before going to any battle to get the victory. "Maari Pooja" is performed in this temple around the month of April or May. "Mukhyaprana", "Ucchangi" & "Naga" gods are also worshipped in the temple premises along with "Daivas". During "Navaratri" different religious and cultural activities takes place. This temple is located near Karkala Bus Stand.
